Alumnus Chad Holmes SDM ’20 has authored a paper in the Special Issue on Machine Learning Applications in Petroleum Industries and Geothermal Systems in the journal Energies. The paper describes machine learning modeling and uncertainty characterization applied to geothermal exploration. Chad also authored a paper in the proceedings of the Annual Workshop on Geothermal Reservoir Engineering that extends geothermal technoeconomic modeling with design flexibility. Both papers expand on thesis work completed for the SDM program in the summer of 2020.
