Alumnus Erwin Franz SDM ’19 has co-authored a paper in the proceedings of the Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC). The paper describes the development of a noninvasive method using lung sounds to monitor respiratory activity. The tool developed, as described in the paper, has been awarded a provisional patent and was developed with assistance and funding from MIT Sandbox.
