SDM ’03 Ion Freeman to Appear in Gilbert & Sullivan Production

SDM ’03 Ion Freeman plays the God Apollo in the MIT Gilbert & Sullivan Players proud presentation of the world premiere of Colin Johnson’s new music for Thespis, Gilbert & Sullivan’s first collaboration. The show will be held in La Sala de Puerto Rico, 2nd floor of the MIT Student Center Friday, April 9th, Saturday, April 10th, Thursday, April 15th, Friday, April 16th, and Saturday, April 17th at 8 pm and Saturday, April 10th and Sunday, April 18th at 2 pm.

Although the original libretto and song lyrics remain, the original music was lost. A few musical pieces were altered slightly by Sullivan and then used in other G&S shows, such as "Climbing Over Rocky Mountain" (from Pirates of Penzance) and "Little Maid of Arcadee", both of which have been kept for this production.. Ticket prices are $6 for MIT/Wellesley students, $8 for children, other students, senior citizens and MIT community members, and $10 for general public.
