Steve Eppinger and ASME Conference

Receives ASME Award for Best Paper

In early September, LFM-SDM Co-director Steven Eppinger received the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) International Design Theory and Methodology Best Paper Award at ASME’s Design Engineering Conference. Steve received the honor for his paper entitled "Product Development Process Modeling Using Advanced Simulation," co-authored by one of his students, Soo-Haeng Cho (SM, Course 2, 2001).

Steve has been nominated four times for the award (1990, 1995, 2000, and 2001), and this was the second time he received it, the first being in 1995.

Steve is also Co-director of MIT’s Center for Innovation and Product Development, General Motors LFM Professor of Management Science, and Professor of Engineering Systems.
