Companies large and small have reaped the benefits of sponsoring employees in MIT’s System Design and Management (SDM) master's or graduate certificate program.
SDM offers a 24-month option for the master's program that is ideal for employees who will continue to work while they are enrolled and/or who have demanding family obligations. For all but one semester, SDM Fellows can use distance-learning technologies to attend live classes with their on-campus counterparts. When not on campus full time, they are required to attend classes at MIT for one week per semester.
Employees sponsored in SDM's graduate certificate program in systems and product development also attend classes remotely. They spend just one week per semester at MIT.
In all cases, students are encouraged to work on projects that provide immediate benefit to their companies, thus maximizing the investment in their education and their value to the organization.
