IELTS: Non-native English speakers who have not obtained a post-secondary degree at an English language institution are required to demonstrate proficiency in English. SDM requires all such applicants to take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam. Please note that SDM no longer accepts TOEFL scores.

The IELTS exam measures ability to communicate in English across all four language skills — listening, reading, writing, and speaking — for people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication. Only scores that are less than 5 years old will be accepted. We expect an IELTS score of 7.5 or better. To register for a test, visit http://www.ielts.org.

Please note that IELTS scores are not required if your secondary/ post-secondary education was in an English language institution.
